Traveling is such an amazing experience. Whether it’s to a new place or somewhere that you’ve been a hundred times, there is something about leaving your home for a place that doesn’t have that “everyday familiar” feeling that gives your spirit a recharge.
I live in the South and I’ve visited all the major cities that we have in our region. Money restraints, being such a workaholic, a fear of flying (I’m brave now LOL) and no one to travel with has kept me from just picking up and going wherever my heart desires. But as of late, I’ve been putting plans into motion to just do it! I’m itching to travel to the Western and Northern parts of our country and overseas, where the food and people are so different. I want to be able to say, “I’m American!” instead of, “I’m from Mississippi!” Get what I mean?
Check out this list of five places (in no particular order) I’d like to visit one day.
1. London
I would love to visit London. Not only is it Europe’s best shopping destination, it is home to world renowned attractions like Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the London Eye and even a tour of Harry Potter’s London. I’d like to visit during the summer months when the weather is warm and the city hosts their usual flower shows and parades. I’d also be able to comfortably explore their outdoor attractions.
2. Dubai
Dubai is so beautiful and exotic! Located along the Persian Gulf at the crossroads between Europe, Africa and Asia, Dubai is one of the fasting growing cities in the world. Not only is it breathtakingly beautiful, there are tons of things to do. Tourists can go camel riding, dune driving in the desert, ski at one of their indoor skiing facilities and the list goes on. I’d have to save up some major coins to afford this trip, but it would be well worth it.
3. Los Angeles
Everyone has had a California dream before. Los Angeles is one of our country’s most popular travel destinations and is home to many of our favorite celebrities. Luckily I have a few friends and associates that reside in L.A. so I shouldn’t have any problems crossing this city off my traveling bucket list.
4. Paris
The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, the Fountains of Paris…what’s not to love about this French city? Paris is the most visited city in the world and boasts top French fashion brands like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and more. The city even has a touch of America with their Disneyland Paris amusement park - the only Disney Park in Europe. Since it’s known as one of the most romantic cities in the world, I just might star in my own love story there.
5. Beijing
Chinese culture is as fascinating as it is rich. There are several places I’d like to visit in Beijing like the Forbidden City, their National Stadium and the Great Wall. I would have to visit their famed Donghuamen Night Market but I wouldn’t dare eat any of the weird foods they have.
There are more American cities I’d like to travel to, but I’ll save them for another list. Where are some places that you’d like to visit? Have you been to any of these? Share your experience with us in the comment section below.
