After eating at a man’s face for 18 minutes, 31-year old Rudy Eugene, was killed by a Miami police officer last month in one of the most disturbing crimes this year.
Police suspected Eugene was high on “bath salts” (combination of three synthetic stimulants - mephedrone, MDPV, and methylone) but results from a recent test done by the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner Department confirms that Eugene was only high on marijuana.
Eugene’s mother defended him after he was coined a “zombie” by many who heard about the case.
“He was a good kid. He gave me a nice card on Mother’s Day. Everyone says he was a zombie. He was no zombie. That was my son,” she says.
The victim of the attack, Ronald Poppo, is currently recovering after losing 75% of his face in the attack.
