The Oklahoma City Thunder forward would be moving from his current agency, Landmark Sports, making him Roc Nation’s highest profile NBA player to join their roster. According to a Yahoo! Sports interview with a league source:
“KD doesn’t want a traditional NBA agent anymore. He wants Jay-Z to handle his branding.… He had a chance to be with his idol and couldn’t say no.”
NBA rules will not currently allow Jay-Z to represent Durant because he must first complete the divestment of his co-ownership in the Brooklyn Nets, but Roc Nation will still be allowed to work with the three-time champ on marketing deals.
