Why You Need Positive People In Your Circle

I’ve had several friends and associates to make appearances in and out of my life over the years. Some have had recurring roles and others have only been extras who appeared for a very short time.

Either way, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in dealing with all kinds of people and I’m sure – without a doubt – that the more positive people that you have in your circle, the likelier you are to be successful and have an optimistic outlook on life, love and everything in between.

I was moved to write this post after reading the blog of one of my favorite writers, Britni Danielle. Although I’ve interacted with her several times online through email and social media, I’ve never met her in person. Yet her positivity and desire to help writers like myself reach her level of success shines through and is so refreshing in such a dog-eat-dog world.

Britni often stresses the importance of positive energy and thoughts. There has to be something to combat the negativity, right?

One of the most notable benefits of having positive friends is that you can always get that support that you need. Positive people tend to look on the brighter side and want the best for you, whether it benefits them or not.

Positive friends also bring out the best in you. They do what they can to lift your spirits and their energy rubs off on you without you even noticing it.

Compare these qualities to people you know who are always negative. Being around them causes you to maybe second guess things, feel like you’re doing “too much” or “not enough” and it burns you out after awhile. Negative people usually have things going on in their life that they are having trouble with or have not dealt with. I used to get so bothered by negative people, now I feel sorry for them and pray that they come out of whatever it is that is hurting them.

I’ve learned that as I limit how much attention I pay to the negative forces in my life (family, friends, coworkers, situations) the better I feel about myself, my abilities and my potential.

I challenge you to get rid of those negative people in your life today and watch what happens!

Have you ever had to end friendships with negative people?
