Whit’s Wisdom: Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls

You’re moving too fast. Remember as and when I told you guys and gals to smell the roses?

Hasty business decisions? Jumping into a relationship? Blowing money? STOP IT! Slow it down! Don’t say yes too quick. It’s okay to think about it.

Remorse grows from a making premature commitment. It can range from buyer’s remorse to regretting  jumping over the broom. You would think that adults would be mature enough to make smarter, well thought out decisions. But we don’t all the time and then the choice is to either live with it or deal with it.

If you’ve already made a hasty decision, deal with it because living with it only makes you bitter. Deal with it by making the necessary adjustments in your life to be happy. I know it may be easier said than done and I realize that some decisions we make affect others like spouses and children. However, at the end of the day, if you’re not a healthy person mentally, physically or emotionally, you can’t be your best for anyone – not even yourself.

My advice:

Always weigh your cons and pros. Pray. Meditate. Be true to yourself. Then make a decision.

Keep pressing and “please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you’re used to.”
