First off, thank you! Thank you for your dedication to your families. Not only financially, but physically, emotionally, and mentally. I know you get a bad rep and the negative “fathers” get most of the attention (especially on the one day in the year dedicated to fathers). So I decided to take the time and let you dads know that you are appreciated and you are loved on a day other than Father’s Day.
Thank you for being unselfish, thank you for giving advice to your sons and daughters, thank you for instilling value and morals into the future leaders of this world, thank you for not giving up, thank you for working hard, thank you for your sacrifices, thank you for being faithful, thank you for being a man of your word, thank you for never leaving, thank you for showing up to recitals and games, thank you for vacations and fishing trips, thank you for discipline and tough love. Most of all, thank you for always being there. Thank you for not abandoning your responsibility.
Society needs you. Sons need you. Daughters need you.
For uncles, brothers, nephews, cousins, friends, stepfathers, and godfathers who’ve stepped into children’s lives and assumed the fatherly role, thank you too.
And lastly, for father’s who want to be dads but they’re having a rough time trying to be because of the mothers, finances, or distance, or jobs – keep trying, keep hoping, and try even harder. Where there is a will there is a way! No excuses!
Remember the race isn’t won by the swift nor the strong but by the one who endures to the end.
Keep pressing and keep up the amazing work!
