Whit Wisdom: New Year, New Heights

I want to reflect on a proud journey I’ve been blessed to experience.

I’ve always loved words and phrases. I love deep conversation. I love books. I’ve always written my thoughts and journaled my ideas. I did news writing in college at the prestigious Jackson State University (shameless plug)… I created an inspirational blog a couple years ago, and I even have a few notes on Facebook. This year I decided I wanted to act on it a little further. I took a leap of faith and it was received!

My first article for was May 5, 2013 and it was called “Sunday Inspiration: Don’t Give Up, You Can Reach The Finish Line.” I’ve shifted a bit from just “Sunday Inspiration” to “Whit Wisdom” since then, and new ideas are on the horizon. My one focus to write is opening doors for more and I’m excited about what 2014 has in store.

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you (2 Timothy 1:6 NKJV). It’s a biblical scripture from the Holy Bible that encourages us to invest in ourselves, water the seeds we plant and perfect our crafts. If you’ve been doing this in 2013, then keep it up! If you haven’t, start.

Progression is a movement or development toward a destination or a more advanced state, especially gradually or in stages. Whether it’s mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, or spiritually, I hope you’re not ending 2013 the way you started. Furthermore, I hope you have new heights to reach and exceed in 2014.

Keep pressing.

Happy New Year!
