A fatal landslide in rural Washington has claimed the lives of 24 people, with 176 still unaccounted for. The Saturday morning disaster was reported to have happened around 10:45 a.m. Authorities are saying that the landslide occurred as a result of recent rain conditions that had saturated the soil.
Tuesday the number of dead reached 24. Authorities say the number of people missing may decline due to names being duplicated and/or people not being in the area when the landslide happened.
