(VIDEO) ‘Underground’ Season 1, Episode 4 Review

This episode of Underground was everything! Just as and when I thought they’d popped enough drama on us, the last few minutes of the show literally had me hollering at the TV.

If you’re unfamiliar with Underground, it’s WGN’s breakout hit show that follows a group of slaves who plan an escape from their plantation to freedom…which happens to be 600 miles away. The show stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell (Rosalee), Aldis Hodge (Noah), Alano Miller (Cato) and Amirah Vann (Ernestine). It’s executive produced by John Legend and written by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski.

A lot of people were skeptical about “another slave” show but I was exited about it from the start, when I saw what the actual storyline was.

In tonight’s episode, we pick up from Rosalee and Noah’s impromptu escape and get to see exactly what Rosalee did to the white overseer behind those closed doors of his home. (Chile….she beat his ass!) From there, we get to watch the slaves determine whether or not they should still go forth with the plan being that the mastermind of it all was already gone.

Check out my video recap/review of the episode below.

Underground airs every Wednesday at 10/9 pm central on WGN. For more information on the show, visit their website here.
