TAPS was founded in 2012 by Funmi “Queen” Franklin and their mission is to “destroy the ideas taught to us by this society that beauty belongs to women who have small frames. We disagree and we are going to show the world that being over a size 14 can still be beautiful, bad wordy and classy.”
The Curves & Cocktails VIP Lounge kicks off at 6 pm and the showcase will begin at 7 pm. There will be a trunk show featuring vendors from all over the state, beginning directly after the showcase.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will be made to MaceADifference. MaceADifference’s mission is to educate women on self-defense and equip them with key ring pepper sprays, stun guns. and other various personal protection items so that they are better equipped in dangerous situations.
Tickets are currently available for the showcase with VIP tickets at $25 in advance and general admission at $15 in advance. Tickets can be purchased here. For more information about TAPS, visit their website by clicking here on check them out on Facebook here.
