You know what I love the most about the summer? Besides the warm and sunny weather, summer time brings about a certain kind of youthful-like love bug. I’m instinctively more “in love” and in search of fun, out-of-the-box things to do with my partner to create unforgettable memories.
Transparent moment – our love life has taken a hit since Marley was born. We’re both adjusting to our new roles as parents and trying to make it work, but it isn’t easy. We hardly have any alone time and our schedules are so intense with work and trying to reach our individual career goals that it’s hard to carve out the time for dates…and when we do, the next obstacle is finding a babysitter for a newborn. As sweet as he is, not many people are comfortable with caring for such a small baby and honestly, we don’t trust anyone outside of family for the most part.
None of that changes how summer makes me feel though. Despite all of our challenges, I’m still feeling like I’ve been bit by the love bug!
I decided that a fun way to spice up our love life would be to complete a summer bucket list. It’s the same concept as the bucket list you’d create for your own life, except you’d replace life goals with #relationshipgoals like taking trips and doing projects together. The objective is to spend quality time with one another doing things you may not normally do to strengthen your connection.
