Lauren Block, a 22-year-old stripper, died Wednesday after falling 15-feet from a second floor balcony of Christie’s Cabaret in Cleveland while performing a lap dance.
According to police reports, the man who was getting the lap dance explained what happened to police. He says that Block grabbed the rail as he was facing away from the balcony and as she tried to complete a complex dance move, she accidentally fell head first over the rail.
Witnesses say Block was not moving once she hit the ground. She was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was initially listed in critical condition. She later died.
Her family released the following statement:
“We would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support and prayers for Lauren. She has passed away but is an organ donor, and we hope this will enable her to save many lives and live on through others. We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at MetroHealth. They worked tirelessly to do all they could to save her life. We ask that the media respect our privacy during this difficult time. We know that she’s in God’s hands.”
