We’re sending prayers out to the family of Alaysha Carradine, 8, who was shot and killed during a sleepover with friends in an Oakland neighborhood.
Carradine was killed and two of her friends, Amara York, 7, and her four year old brother were injured when a gunmen open fired on the apartment they were staying in Wednesday night. York’s grandmother, 63, was also shot but her injuries are not life threatening. Khamel Hardin, 22, but was upstairs during the time of the shooting.
According to KPIX, the shooting occurred when York ran to answer the doorbell, thinking it was her mother. Instead she was met with bullets but somehow managed to survive. Bullets went through the security door along with the door behind it, the walls of the apartment, a back window and blood could be seen on the floor.
Carradine, a regular visitor to the apartment, was sleeping over because her mother was away on vacation in Washington, D.C.
There are currently no suspects in the case. Officials have announced a $25,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
