Seriously…this is one of the most outrageous things I’ve seen in the news in a long time.
An app created by Trade Digital Inc. has sparked outrage for its portrayal of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old boy killed by George Zimmerman on February 26, 2012. The app depicts Martin as a street thug wearing a hoodie and attacking people on the street with weapons.
The app is totally disrespectful to Trayvon and his family, especially with Zimmerman’s trial currently going on. The creators of the app made a statement on the app’s Facebook page in their defense:
“Sorry for the inconvenience as this was just an action game for entertainment. This was by no means a racist game. Nonetheless, it was removed as will this page and anything associated with the game will be removed.”
At the time of press, the app was still available on Google Play for $1.99.
