Chicago is being hit hard by gun violence and gang activity.
At least five people were murdered Saturday in Chicago, including a 34-year-old man whose mother had already lost her other three children to gun violence in the city.
The man, Ronnie Chambers, was shot in the head while sitting in a parked car (similar to the death of Chief Keef’s stepbrother) on the city’s West Side. A 21-year-old man was also shot while in the car with him. Chambers was the only surviving son of his mother, Shirley Chambers. He had recently appeared on The Ricki Lake Show to share his story and warn others of the dangers of gun violence.
Shortly after Chambers was murdered, a gunman opened fire on three men near a South Side restaurant, killing two of them and wounding a third. On Saturday afternoon, police responded to scenes where a man in his 30s and a teenager were both shot to death.
