Pastor Jamal H. Bryant of the Empowerment Temple in Baltimore had some *cough* words of wisdom for his congregation.
During one of his sermons, he talks about how people should have listened when someone tells them about another person in their life and proceeds to inform the congregation that “these hoes ain’t loyal.”
The phrase comes from Chris Brown‘s hit single “Loyal,” which talks about women who are opportunists and aren’t loyal to their partners.
To my surprise, the congregation was cheering and agreeing. I probably would have been in shock!
I actually like the song minus how he refers to women but I don’t think I’d like my pastor shouting the lyrics while I’m at church to learn how I can be a better individual.
Bryant was also at the center of a nasty public divorce after he cheated on his former wife. The irony.
