In celebration of my upcoming 1-year natural hair anniversary, here is another post that sort of reflects on my decision to go natural and the process I went through. After transitioning for three months, I decided to go ahead and do the big chop (BC).
Doing the BC was probably one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make. I really wanted to do it, but to say I didn’t have doubts and struggles would be a lie. At the beginning of my “journey” I was a YouTube addict. I would see how much growth other young ladies had experienced and I was so anxious to get the process going. So anxious that I didn’t take a lot of time to research other ways I could transition without cutting all my hair off.
In retrospect, I’m glad I went ahead and did it. BUT looking back, I would have transitioned just a little while longer to give me more length before chopping. So I decided to put together a list of my pros/cons of doing the BC.
