Our Intern’s Big Day! Jade Interviews For BET College Tour Hosting Gig

Guess who auditioned to be a host for BET’s College Tour at the best HBCU in the land (Jackson State University, of course)?

Well you guessed it, ME!

BET just wrapped up its annual college tour of 14 historically black colleges, where the network visits the campus and hosts free activities such as games, concerts, and fun filled entertainment for the students to get involved.

They hosted auditions Thursday for a host to represent the current school and I was excited about the opportunity to showcase my talent! I along with about 20 other contestants got the courage to audition, in front of all the other contestants by the way! If you didn’t know, I aspire to become a television host and radio/TV personality, so of course I figured this was my shot!

Unfortunately I didn’t make it past the first round (yikes) but I’m OK with that!

My spirits aren’t down or broken. I take this as a learning opportunity and will take notes for what to do next time. This was my first audition and definitely won’t be my last. To be successful you must not be afraid to fail but try, try again! Congrats to whomever the winner was!
