Open Your Pores With Facial Steaming

face-steam

Steam is a great way to get rid of toxins and impurities from your body that would otherwise show their ugly head in the form of pimples and other blemishes on your skin.

Steaming your face has several benefits:

  • Creates a natural glow. The humidity from steaming increases your blood circulation in your facial skin, resulting in a natural glow.
  • Cleanses your facial skin. Steaming your face creates perspiration and as and when perspiration is excreted through your skin, it also lifts dirt and debris that could be trapped in your pores.
  • Anti-aging. Steaming helps to loosen dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. After facial steaming, your skin will look younger.

Before following the instructions below to start your facial steaming process, please know that steaming can have some negative effects. Before steaming make sure that you remove any makeup and cleanse your face well. Having makeup, dirt, or oils on your face can cause your steaming facial to backfire and create breakouts. Also, facial steaming by itself is not a good facial treatment for any skin type. Facial steaming will have better results if followed with a facial cleanser and exfoliant or astringent. Steaming lifts dirt and debris from the pores of your skin and using an exfoliant or astringent helps to remove the dirt and debris from your skin for good!

First, remove any make up or dirt from your face with a facial cleanser of your choice. Fill pot with water and bring to a boil. Pour hot water into a large bowl. Place your face over the bowl of hot water and drape a towel over your head to keep the steam in. Stay over the steam for no more than 10 minutes. Wash your face with your facial cleanser. Apply an astringent or exfoliant to your skin to remove dirt and cleanse pores.
