One of the things I love about my hair is its versatility. People always tell me how every time they see me, I have a new style LOL.
Today I’m rocking what I like to call my “wash-n-go fro.”
I’ve never been fond of doing a wash-n-go style because of how bad my hair shrinks. My favorite way to wear my hair is big and fluffy and whenever my hair has experienced shrinkage, it doesn’t look big at all. In fact, it looks really tight and 70’s-ish. Sometimes I like it that way and sometimes I don’t.
And I guess today I’m liking it. *shrugs*
Here are the steps I took to achieve the look from this photo:
- First I co-washed my hair in the shower with Shea Moisture’s Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner. I divided it into only two sections (because I was short on time) and detangled before and after I applied the conditioner in my hair.
- I squeezed the water out of my hair with my hands and applied a quarter-sized amount of the same conditioner to each section as a leave-in.
- I applied a homemade shea butter mixture to my hair along with about a dime-sized amount of Elasta QP gel for a little hold.
- I scrunched it up and let it air dry.
Around the third hour of my hair air drying is when it shrinks the most so I pull it out a little every thirty minutes or so just to keep it from sticking to my head LOL. After it has completely dried, I use my pik to make it bigger.
