[movie] The Possession :: Good, But Not Scary

Last night, I went to the movies to see ‘The Possession’ starring Natasha Calis, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick. I normally don’t watch scary movies at night (yes I will have bad dreams…don’t judge me) but I’m serious about completing most of my 100 In a Year tasks, so I had to do what I had to do, LOL.

A young girl gets a box that is holding an ancient evil spirit that eventually possesses her, hence the title of the movie. I’m a person who believes in spirits and the fact that they can and will find able bodies to possess so seeing this movie which is based on a true story, really sparked my interest.

There were a few cringe worthy moments and Emily (played by Natasha Calis) got more and more evil with each passing scene. I wonder if they cast her because of her eyes, because they were beautiful. I couldn’t help but watch them in an attempt to see them change or something as she became consumed by the demon.

The movie wasn’t scary, but it’s worth going to see. If anything, you’ll have an interesting conversation about possessions and evil spirits after you watch it.
