The only thing worse than pimples and zits are the ugly marks they leave behind. We found a solution that could be sitting right in your fridge – lemons!
Lemons are natural sources of Vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids. Vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of new tissues and alpha hydroxy acids improve the appearance of acne scars. Because of the Vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids that lemons contain, lemons can be used as a exfoliant to remove dead skin and promote new skin growth. If consumed orally, lemon juice can assist in flushing out toxins, which also leads to clearer skin.
Here are some ways to use lemons to help with your problem areas:
- Use a cotton ball to dab lemon juice on problem areas. Let sit for 10-15 minutes then wash with warm water.
- Cut lemon into slices and rub over problem areas. Allow lemon juice to sit for 10-15 minutes, then wash with warm water.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice into your water and drink throughout the day.
