Kid Entrepreneurs Start Food Truck Business

I love to see children jumping into entrepreneurship! Jaden Wheeler, 12 and Amaya Selmon, 11 are officially the youngest food truck owners in Memphis.

The two siblings are the owners of Kool Kidz Sno Conez, which originally started in their front yard. After earning $1,000 in two summers their mother, Katrina Robinson, stepped in and gave them the idea to get a food truck. They found an old transport van on Craigslist and had the inside refurbished to food truck standards.

Each person has their role in the business – Jaden makes the snow cones, Amaya works the window and Robinson drives the truck. Jaden has big plans for the business:

“Our goal with the truck is to franchise it, so I don’t have to work as and when I grow up. What I mean is that I want to work smart instead of working hard.”
