I’m excited to announce all the official details for my semi-annual natural hair tour, Kinks & Curls on Campus!
Kinks & Curls on Campus is a meetup style event designed specifically for college naturals. Last year was our first time hosting and we had an opportunity to visit Tougaloo College and the University of Southern Mississippi. This time around, we’ll be visiting those same institutions and we’ve also added Jackson State University and Mississippi State University to the mix.
If you’re a student and interested in learning more about natural hair, please make plans to attend at least one of our stops. Non-students are also welcome!
Friday, February 5, 2016
Tougaloo College @ 6:30 PM
Owens Health & Wellness Building, Room 212 A&B
500 W. County Line Road
We’re partnering with the amazing ladies of Tougaloo Womanhood (@TougalooWomanhood) to bring this event to campus. We were able to visit last year and despite the heavy rain, we had a great turnout and an even better time together.
Friday, February 12, 2016
Mississippi State University @ 6:30 PM
Union Dawghouse (Colvard Student Union, 1st Floor)
75 B. S. Hood Road
For the first time, we’re traveling to Mississippi State University to bring this event to all the naturals who wear maroon and white! We’ve partnered with the MSU Starlight Dancers (@msu_starlight) to bring the tour to Starkville, but their stop will be a little different from the others. Because it’s so close to Valentine’s Day, this stop will feature a relationship mixer.
Friday, February 19, 2016
University of Southern Mississippi @ 6:00 PM
R.C. Lounge (R.C. Cook University Union, 1st Floor)
118 College Drive
We have the pleasure of working with the University of Southern Mississippi’s chapter of IDEAL Women (@ideal_women) again. Last year was an overwhelming success and I’m looking forward to returning to my alma mater for this event.
Friday, February 26, 2016
Jackson State University @ 6:30 PM
McAllister Whiteside Residence Hall
1400 J R Lynch Street
Not only am I returning to my dear old college home, I get to host an event in the very dorm I lived in as a freshman! I’ve teamed up with Residence Life (jsureslife) and the Essence of a Lady Tiger (@theeladiesofeolt) to bring Kinks & Curls on Campus to Jackson State.
Each stop will feature a product swap (so bring any products that you don’t like or that didn’t work for you), games, a Q&A session, an interactive photo booth and more!
