Around this time of year, we all tend to have a lot of things on our plates with work, school, home and in our personal lives. Our sudden influx of tasks sometimes makes us use the number one excuse we need to stop using: “I’m sorry, I’ve been so busy.”
How many times have you told someone you couldn’t give them a call or send them a text message because you were “too busy”? I’m very guilty of this, especially with people who rely on me to make contact (but that’s another post for another day).
Being too busy is a CHOICE.
We are never too busy for things we really want to do.
One of my favorite writers said it best: we’re all given the same number of hours everyday. Why can some people do everything on their to-do list for that day plus some and you’re complaining that you don’t have enough time? The answer is simple: you make time for who and what is important to you.
The bottom line is that everyone is busy. Don’t allow yourself to use that as an excuse to half-ass some things and totally neglect others. To manage my time, I use every possible reminder app in my iPhone in addition to my planner that I keep in my purse. There have been times as and when I had to schedule “call Mom” or “take Kingston on a walk” because if I don’t MAKE it important, it WON’T be.
So folks, I’m challenging you to eliminate being too busy from your list of excuses! Share your tips on managing your time in the comment section below.
