One of my favorite worship songs of all time is “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” by Hillsong United. No matter what mood I’m in, whenever I listen I’m guaranteed to shed a tear. The song makes me reflect on the goodness of God and how He has carried me as and when I was afraid to face something in my life.
It’s a remarkable record from a remarkable band who is the main focus of a new film by Pure Flix, the largest faith and family production studio in the world.
Hillsong: Let Hope Rise is a film that chronicles the band’s journey from being a tiny church in Sydney, Australia to an international ministry that has sold over 17 million albums.
“Anyone who regularly attends a church knows Hillsong’s music by heart. That’s how influential they’ve become,” said producer Jonathan Bock. “And yet despite the fame and adulation, they’re still just a humble worship band trying to do what tens of thousands of other worship bands try to do every week — glorify God through their music. How they balance that is a fascinating and surprising story.”
The highly anticipated film will be released in theaters this fall, on September 16th.
