Black and white students at Wilcox County High School in Rochelle, Ga. had a chance to celebrate prom together for the first time in the school’s history.

This historical prom was made possible after four students – two black and two white – came together for a campaign to allow the students to have prom together. In the past, there were two separate proms held for each race.

Over 100 students attended the masquerade themed event this past Saturday. There was still a “white-only” prom held two weeks ago, some students including those that helped organize the integrated prom attended both.
