This post is brought to you by My Hair Dance. As always, all opinions are 100% my own and are not influenced in any way.
There was once a time when I gave my hair so much tender love and care. I stuck by a strict routine and I invested a lot of time into researching products and coming up with new styles. It seems like as time went on, I got less interested. After coloring and cutting my hair (and trying every protective style under the sun), I just didn’t care anymore.
Toward the end of my pregnancy my hair went through a huge growth spurt. All of a sudden, it was thicker and more beautifully textured than ever and I wanted to keep it that way. When asked to test out the My Hair Dance product line, I agreed – not just because I wanted products (because I have more than enough), but because I’d long given up products with harmful ingredients.
I was sent their Healthy Hair Care System to try out and share my opinions on. The set includes the following:
- Nature’s Treatment Shampoo
- Moisture and Strength Conditioner (not included in the set on their website)
- Hair and Root Stimulator
- Rejuvenating Hair Oil
- Ultra Light Conditioning Spray
- Silky Touch Dry Shampoo
When I received them, I was so excited because I’ve never used an entire system on my hair. I always use the shampoo and conditioner and that’s it. I’ll tell you right now that using the entire line of a particular hair care collection will make a difference.
Here are my thoughts on each of the products.
Shampoo: The shampoo was what I expected it to be. Because it doesn’t contain any chemicals, I already knew it wasn’t going to lather a lot. It didn’t lather at all actually, which will seem very odd if you have never used a shampoo like this before. The formula was tingly, which I like, and I do feel that my hair was cleansed well but I wouldn’t use this weekly. I would use it every other week.
Conditioner: I really wish that this was a leave-in conditioner, but the spray made up for it. The shampoo did leave my hair feeling a tad bit stripped but the conditioner restored any of the natural moisture that was lot during the process.
Hair and Root Stimulator: I LOVED this product. It gives me a very medicinal vibe and I used it to bring back my edges because I lost them during postpartum shedding. Here’s a before picture, you can see the after in the video or in the photo above.
Conditioning Spray: As I mentioned up top, the spray made up for the conditioner not being a leave in. I’m almost out of this product because I use it to moisturize and protect my ends. You really have to take good care of your ends because they’re the oldest part of your hair and this does the job. My twist-outs look flawless because my ends aren’t raggedy.
Hair Oil: I also really like this oil. It’s not that the oil is super special…it’s your standard hair oil. I think I like the packaging the most. The fact that the oil is in a sprayable container is SO convenient. It really helps you target the area you want to oil without the oil dripping or spilling everywhere.
Dry Shampoo: This was my first time using dry shampoo. I always thought it was for non-Black people LOL (and I still do) but it did freshen my hair up a bit.

I’ve used these for two months and I plan to continue, so I would recommend this to anyone looking for an entire set to use on their hair. You can watch me use the Hair Care Treatment Set for Healthy Hair, Scalp and Hair Follicles below.
