Don’t Have $10 To Spare? Listen To Channel Orange For Free – And It’s Legal!

Music lovers have been buzzing about 24-year old Frank Ocean‘s debut album, channel Orange, since its early release Monday night. The album has since shot to #1 on iTunes in several countries.

Have no fear! If you don’t have $10 to spare, Frank kindly released a free full stream of the album on his Tumblr.

Prior to the album’s release, he revealed through a very intimate message on his Tumblr that at age 19, he fell in love with a man who did not share mutual feelings. Frank Ocean’s “announcement” has been considered a groundbreaking move in Black hip-hop culture but unfortunately, now his revelation is being met with a lot of skepticism.

Now, many believe that it was a publicity stunt. It could be, but who cares? We have channel Orange to take us to new highs as we listen and get lost in the lyrics.

Frank is such a witty and imaginative story teller. I think that’s what draws me in. I tend to enjoy music that challenges me to listen below the surface and find a deeper meaning. Maybe it’s the analyst in me. I like to pick things apart and find out what they really mean.

My favorite tracks are Thinking Bout You, Super Rich Kids, Pyramid, Bad Religion and Pink Matter. I’ll have to go into detail about each of them in a separate post. LOL!
