DIY fashion is becoming very popular and with a few tries, you could have an at-home fashion house! Hanna and Jasmine Bowie of The Two-Headed Woman held a DIY class today at Sew Select in Hattiesburg to teach us how to design our own clutches for a night out or special occasion.
The twins had several different fabrics and embellishments for us to choose from and I chose a tan foam and feathers. I wanted a clutch for a night out on the town and I thought feathers would be perfect. We began with deciding how big we wanted the storage space of the clutch to be and folded the fabric in three sections according to the size we wanted.
From there, we used a hot glue gun to secure the outer ends of the clutch to create the inside compartment. Once the glue dried, we stitched the ends and flipped the clutch inside out. After doing this, we started the fun part – embellishing our clutches!
Some people used strings of pearls while others used spikes and rhinestones. To secure the flap, we used round velcro.
I’m really pleased with my finished product and can’t wait to wear it! For more information on The Two-Headed Woman’s Facebook fan page by clicking here.
