2017 marked the fifth year of my blogging career and I’ve never seen so much return on my investments. I’m finally proud to say that I’m a professional blogger. I don’t feel like a fraud anymore because everything I’ve set out to do, I’m doing it and more.
I have to credit my recent success largely to two different things: working my butt off to find opportunities and collaborating with other bloggers.
Collaborating has not only been fun, but it has helped me in many ways. Of course I’ve gained new followers and readers but I’m also cultivating genuine friendships, partnerships and its challenging me to be more creative. I’ve been telling myself and my blogger friends that I want to collaborate on a regular basis with someone else in the industry.
There are literally unlimited possibilities for working together and I wanted to share some with you to get your wheels turning.
1 – Guest Posts
You could either write for another blog or have another blogger write for your website…or both! Guest posts are a great way to get links to your site and exposure on their platform and among their social media following. This is also a great tool to fill up space on your editorial calendar if you’re unable to crank out content as often as you’d like.
2 – Reviews
Do you have a product or service? Offer it to another blogger in exchange for a review. (If you don’t like the product/service, instead of writing a bad review, offer them feedback.)
3 – Workshops
Partner with another blogger who has knowledge or a service that would compliment your offerings well. Make a little extra cash by hosting a workshop together where you teach one half of the workshop and your blogger friend handles the other half.
4 – Communities
Create a social media community together (think a private/secret/closed Facebook group) covering a specific topic. I have one with my blogger friends for local influencers in our area.
5 – Giveaways
Although not my favorite form of collaborations, giveaways can be beneficial when developed correctly.
6 – Videos
The possibilities are endless for creating collaborative video content.
7 – Information Product
Ebooks, workbooks, etc.
8 – New blog
Create a separate blog that you two manage together.
9 – Challenge
Do you have a blogger friend in a similar niche? Collaborate on a challenge – it could be on social media or on your blogs.
10 – Podcast
Podcasts are all the rage and if you share a fun and entertaining personality with a blogger friend, join forces to create a podcast.
