How To Preserve & Protect Your Natural Hair With A Nightly Routine

I have a confession… I’m a lazy natural (but I didn’t start that way).

I did a big chop after transitioning for three months and I wanted nothing more than a head full of long, thick, curly hair. I would spend hours browsing YouTube for tutorials and tips and I devoted time each night to wrap my hair or twist it so that it would be protected as I slept.

After the excitement I had about having natural hair wore off, I became overwhelmed with all the twisting, dusting, blowing out and braiding that I once enjoyed. I achieved my growth goal pretty quickly and in retrospect, that’s what made me lazy. At that time having natural hair for me meant having long, curly hair. When I finally got the hair I wanted, I didn’t focus as much on its health.

(VIDEO) Marley’s 1 Month Update Featuring Milestone

Disclosure: This blog post is being brought to you by Milestone. Check out their website for products to document life with your little one!

I can’t believe my baby boy is already one month old! It seems like just yesterday that he was born (read/watch his birth story here) and he’s already trying to grow up on us.

I’m a typical first time mom – I take a billion photos and videos of him a day, I can’t sleep at night without touching him to make sure he’s breathing and I’m trying my hardest to adjust to the new responsibilities I have. 5 Reasons Why You Should Attend The 2017 Mississippi Natural Hair Expo

Thank you to the Mississippi Natural Hair Expo for sponsoring this post. You can purchase tickets to the 2017 expo, presented by CURLS, being held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 here.

When you embark on a natural hair journey, be prepared for it to be one with many twists and turns. From finding the right products to learning all the slang associated with natural hair, you will literally feel like you’re being schooled.

I’ve been natural since April 2011 and I still find myself learning new things about my hair. I’ve tried so many different styles, I’ve experimented with color and I’ve even cut it several times. I’ve also attended more (and hosted my own) natural hair related events than I can count and that’s where the real learning takes place.

For Two Fitness: My Attempt To Naturally Induce Labor

Disclaimer: Thank you For Two Fitness® for sending me a tank to review.

I talked about my hopes of having my baby before his due date in my last pregnancy update and even then, I thought I would at least have him on his due date. Again, I was wrong. I’m currently overdue at 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I’ve being trying everything to naturally induce labor.

From having intercourse to eating pineapples and even taking evening primrose, I’ve done everything the doctor suggested. The only thing that seems to make any difference in the way I feel physically has been exercising.

3 Ways To Build Enough Confidence To Wear A Wig

This post has been sponsored. All opinions are my own.

One of my favorite things about being a woman is having the ability to switch up my look whenever and however I want. I can go from long to short hair in seconds, I can test out a new color without risking any damage to my hair and I can easily transform from bouncy curls to sleek strands with the slip of a wig.

Even though wigs are as popular now as they were back in the day, some women still shy away from wearing them.
