This post was totally supposed to be a video but I’m barely able to get anything done these days – the exhaustion is back (but we’ll get into that later) and I didn’t have many views on my last video update so I figured you all wouldn’t mind anyway.
I took a week (or maybe two) off from my blog and email with limited social media access because I just knew my baby would arrive early. Well, I didn’t know for sure, I was hoping he would. After listening to the predictions of my family and those closest to me, I’d had it in my head that he would come into the world at 37 1/2 weeks but…nah.
Can you guess one of the first things I did once the reality of being pregnant hit me?
I downloaded an app.
(Don’t judge me…it’s what millennials do, OK?)
Because I’m a first time mom-to-be, I literally knew nothing about the pregnancy experience. I didn’t understand exactly how pregnancies progress, what certain terms meant, what body changes and symptoms I would experience and the list goes on. Downloading a pregnancy app just made sense for me.
I chose to download the What To Expect app because of the popularity of its accompanying website. I downloaded several others but this was the first one I found to be useful – but it’s not without its pros and cons.
When you’re carrying a baby, the last thing you’re thinking about is how fashionable you look. Comfort takes the cake above all else as and when picking out maternity clothing. Luckily, with Mommylicious Maternity, you don’t have to compromise your comfort to look great and feel bad wordy – double win!
I had an opportunity to partner with them and showcase some of their comfy and affordable selections.
As a first-time mom, I’ve relied a lot on forums and advice from other moms to help me figure out what I need to make this new chapter in my life start off as smoothly as possible.
Even still, it can get a little overwhelming as and when you’re just looking at different products online. Everything looks like something you’ll eventually need! Not only that, I’m the type of person that enjoys being able to sample something before I buy it.
That’s why I felt like the pregnancy gods had answered my prayers when I received all these amazing products in my Bump, Baby & You Edition of the Babbleboxx.
For the most part I’ve had a very easy going pregnancy. I’m only about 5 pounds heavier than my pre-pregnancy weight, I haven’t had any swelling (yet) and I’m moving around pretty well if I say so myself. The only major discomfort I’ve experienced has been terrible back pain and an inability to get a good night’s sleep because of it.
As someone who believes in the power of resting and getting an adequate amount of sleep, this has been more than frustrating. On one hand I try to be positive and look at it as preparation for the late night feedings that are just weeks away, but on the other, it makes me sad. I really need a good, long night’s sleep as often as I can get it for the very same reason – it’ll be unheard of for the next couple of years.
