Today marks the first day of December and the official kick-off for Vlogmas!
Haven’t heard of it? Neither had I up until last year after and I became addicted quick. Vlogmas is an annual Christmas celebration on YouTube that began around 2011. Ambitious YouTubers who opt into the celebration post a video once a day during the month of December, leading up to Christmas.
Instead of being a spectator, I’m going to be participating this year…or at least I’m going to try my hardest to. If you’re thinking about joining me (subscribe to my channel) and thousands of other YouTubers, keep reading for tips on how to make the most of this opportunity to grow your YouTube channel and celebrate the holidays in a different but insanely fun and addicting way.
I know you’ve seen the photo floating around on Instagram but in case you haven’t, I’ll go ahead and let you know that:
If you haven’t already started working on 2017, you’re already late.
While that may come across harsh, it’s actually very true. I’ve learned from personal experience that failing to plan properly will impact your success no matter what you’re aiming to do. Whether we like it or not, we live in an extremely fast paced society and our attention spans are much shorter than past generations. Not only that, so many things are competing for our attention that we only invest time into what really stands out, what’s consistent and targeted to our varying interests.
And those reasons are why you should invest in strategic planning for your blog or business now, while there’s still time to put things into place.
If you’re someone who blogs for more than just fun, it’s crucial to have a media kit.
Media kits (also known as press kits) are like resumes for your brand. As a blogger, the need to have them is just as pressing as if you owned a more traditional business.
Someone in my private Facebook community for bloggers asked a question about media kits, inspiring this post. With my public relations background, I’d never considered that the average person doesn’t know what they are, how to use them and what they should include.
So here you have it folks!
If you haven’t launched your blog yet because you feel a certain level of anxiety, apprehension or nervousness then know that you are not alone. Many aspiring bloggers find themselves in a statue-like state as and when it comes to clicking the publish button.
And it’s all because of fear.
Fear of what, exactly?
Well it’s a lot of things wrapped into one. I know because I experienced it before I launched this site.
If you’ve been blogging for longer than 2 seconds, you’re probably already feeling overwhelmed with all there is to learn.
When I first started blogging, I didn’t know what to look for in terms of building my blog. Now that I’ve been doing it for a while, I’m constantly coming across different resources to help make my blog better and get the results that I want. From creating products and services to working with major companies, there is information galore just waiting to be found all across the web.
