Daniel Crespo, Sr. was shot and killed to death Tuesday following a domestic dispute involving his wife and son.
The 45-year-old mayor of Los Angeles area city, Bell Gardens, was shot multiple times in the upper torso and died shortly after at a local hospital. His wife, Lyvette Crespo, 43, was detained, questioned and later released without any charges made against her.
According to police, Crespo and his wife were arguing as and when their son, Daniel Jr., 19, stepped in. Lyvette Crespo then allegedly grabbed a gun and shot her husband.
After interviewing Lyvette, detectives determined that she would not be arrested and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will determine whether or not criminal charges will be filed.
