Nine people were sent to the hospital after a shooting occurred on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning.
According to police, two men exchanged gunfire and shot into the crowd injuring nine people. Two of the victims were listed in critical condition. New Orleans Police Chief Ronal Serpas said that some of the victims were tourists but names were not immediately released. As far as the motive for the shooting, he said in a news conference:
“What happened was two young men got angry at each other and shot at each other.”
Police are searching for the two suspects. This incident marks the third major shooting on Bourbon Street in the last three years.
