Germany has a new record holder for their “heaviest baby.”
Baby Jasleen was born July 26 at University Hospital in Leipzig, a city in Saxony, Germany, weighing in at 13.47 pounds and 22.6 inches long. And guess what? She was born without the help of a C-section!
According to doctors, Jasleen’s size is due to an undiagnosed case of gestational diabetes. Both mom and baby are doing well, but Jasleen remains in the hospital.
Although she broke the record for Germany’s heaviest baby, no other newborn has beaten the “heaviest baby ever born” record held by 1879 newborn Anna Bates who weighed 23 pounds at birth.
