Uh oh, it looks like BET has a multi-million dollar lawsuit on their hands!
Openly gay, gender-nonconforming blogger B. Scott is suing BET for discrimination after the network allegedly forced him to wear men’s clothing during a red carpet segment. Scott was hired as a Style Stage Correspondent for the Ford Red Carpet at the 2013 BET Awards in June and after the show aired, Scott wrote on his blog that BET “forced” him to pull his hair back, take off his makeup, change his clothes and not wear a high heel.
Scott made the announcement Wednesday that he would be suing BET and its parent company Viacom for discrimination on the basis of gender identity, gender expression and bad wordual orientation.
Scott is asking for $2.5 million in damages.
