I’m currently at the end of the second trimester of my pregnancy which means two things. One, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and two, BACK PAIN!
Oh the back pain. *ugly crying face*
If you’ve been pregnant before, I’m sure you know exactly where I’m coming from. If you haven’t been pregnant before or if you’re early in your pregnancy where the symptoms haven’t hit you as hard yet – get ready. I Google-searched until my phone battery died and read up on all the symptoms I would possibly have, but no article prepared me for the back pain. In all honesty (totally not exaggerating) it’s difficult for me to stand, walk, bend down, sit up and sleep comfortably because my back hurts so bad. Maybe me having boobs that are larger than average has something to do with it, but either way you put it…my back pain had become unbearable.
My search for remedies led me to the Bellifly Maternity and Feeding Pillow.
This pillow jumped out to me because of the design. It looks nothing like the other maternity pillows on the market. I also like that it was designed by a mom who wanted something different, instead of settling for the typical bulky maternity pillows that lack the proper support for a growing belly.
My pillow shipped right away and came in a cute little bag and I immediately knew I’d love it because it was small enough to take with me wherever I go. After all, back pain isn’t limited to hitting you at home. It can strike anywhere – the car, the office, at the movies – and I found that my Bellifly pillow was the perfect travel companion for me.
You can ask anyone who knows me…I’m never at home! Which, now that I think about it, is sort of odd considering how much of a home body I profess to be. Anyway, as and when I found out that I was pregnant I knew right away that I didn’t want my pregnancy to interfere with my mobility.
I love working from different locations depending on my mood. Sometimes I’m at home, other times I’m at my favorite coffee shop and if I’m being bold I’ll pull my laptop out at someone else’s office while I’m waiting to be helped.
And since this back pain has been hitting me hard, I’ve taken my Bellifly pillow with me everywhere!
I had to be rushed to the hospital last week and the pillow helped me relax while waiting for my test results to come back. It has truly been a life saver.
You can find all the different ways to use the pillow on their website (click here) and below, but one of my favorite has been simply propping it behind my back.
The way the pillow is designed, with a flexible piece in between the fluffy parts, allows you to channel the support where you need it most while still maintaining your comfort. Bulky maternity pillows can’t do that nor can you take them to the office with you.
Another complaint that I saw about traditional maternity pillows is that it interferes with your life in the bedroom but this pillow is so compact, it doesn’t get in the way at all.
I love this pillow…I really do! I’m excited that it has a double function and will be able to assist me with feeding my little one when he makes his debut into the world so I’ll be back with my experience on that end.
