Attorney General Eric Holder Announces Resignation

Attorney General Eric Holder announced Thursday that he will resign from his position after six years of service in the Justice Department. He said in a statement that he will remain in the position until his successor is confirmed.

Holder was sworn in as the 82nd attorney general in 2009 and is the first African-American to hold the position.
