Jackson, MS native and founder of The Chosen Productions, Essence Wallace, is returning to her hometown for a very special holiday event.
The writer, director and producer will be hosting “A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words” on December 26 in Jackson at the historic Alamo Theatre.
Although Wallace launched her company in Jackson in 2014, most of its work has been done outside of the state. She felt that it was time for Jacksonians to be exposed to all that her full-service production company offers.
This event features a red carpet event, the premiere of the short film “Judgement Day,” and a Q&A session with the actors, writer, director and producer of the film.
About “Judgement Day”
“Judgement Day” was filmed in Jackson in 2015 and is a dramatic short film centered around the main character, Connor, who holds tight to a traumatizing life event that left him filled with bitterness and with an unfair opinion of Blacks. His bitterness and disdain for Blacks ultimately leads him to make a life-changing decision that ends in tragedy. The purpose of this film is to inspire people to respond to racism and division according to how the Word of God instructs us to do.
