10 Surprising Uses For Olive Oil

If there is one thing I know we all have in our pantries, it’s olive oil. This common and inexpensive household product can be used for a multitude of things. Here are ten different ways to use olive oil.

1. Cooking
While many believe that cooking with olive oil takes away its nutrients, it does the exact opposite as and when properly used. Olive oil can be found as one of the main ingredients  in vegetarian dishes as well as other tasty, flavorful recipes.

2. Earaches
An old remedy is taking olive oil to rid those pesky earaches. There are two ways to do this. One way is to take a cotton swab with olive oil and gently rub it on the outside ear cavity. You can also heat the olive oil in the microwave for 30 seconds and apply it to the ear that hurts.

3. Cats
If you have a cat then you know how horrible it is to wake up and find a hair ball in the middle of the floor. In an effort to ease the problem, you’ve probably gone out and bought expensive and harmful hair ball products when the solution was literally right in front of us! Olive oil can stop hair balls, shedding and leave the fur looking healthy. Who would have thought that a teaspoon of olive oil in your cat’s food can help with all of that?
